The year was 2018 when History was made for the first time in the African continent our country South Africa were the host of the World renown Global Citizen Festival.

On 2 December 2018 Global Citizen brought together its largest contingency of heads of state, dignitaries, a group of the World’s most talented artists and influencers, and thousands of global citizens to celebrate the centenary of Nelson Mandel.

Revolutionary Freelance Agency (RFA) partnered with Mbuyi Designs, came together and thought why not use this opportunity of the Global Citizen coming to South Africa to create a campaign that would make a difference in our society and community inspired by what Nelson Mandela stood for and honoring his memory.

As creatives in our respective fields, we brainstorm and asked ourselves what is it that people attending festivals do, buy, wear in terms of fashion and cherish? And what is it that they would want to take from the whole experience?  Memory of cause, this then led us in coming up with the T-shirt Campaign. This made complete sense to us as it would be a great souvenir for people attending the festival to buy and take home as a memory for this once in a lifetime festival celebrating the centenary of Nelson Mandela in South Africa more especially it being an exclusive Festival which whom people had to earn the tickets by doing good deeds.

The T-shirt design was inspired by the image of Nelson Mandela using letters of the alphabets to create the iconic figures face. The design is meant to empower and bring hope that we can overcome any challenges. The objective of this whole campaign was to raise funds from sales of at least 100 T-shirts at the festival and use the money to give back.
