This project was birthed from the success of the 100 T-shirt Campaign which took place during the Global Citizen Festival hosted by South Africa on the 2nd December 2018 at FNB Stadium. The T-shirt Campaign where both Revolutionary Freelance Agency together with Mbuyi Designs was able to successfully sell more than 100 T-shits to raise funds in order to make a difference the community and society.
This project was all about social responsibility and giving back to our society for a brighter better future. Who is the future we asked ourselves? the children of our country are which is what inspired us to do this project. “Every child is potentially the light of the World” Abdu’l Baha, education holds the key to unlock great potential children have and making their dreams and hopes a reality.
In South Africa, a number of children from poor unprivileged backgrounds go to school every day without school shoes because their parents or guardians can’t afford to buy them. This can sometimes easily affect the child’s confidence making them feel out and affect their performance.
With the money raised from sales of T-shirts from the Global Citizen Festival in 2018, we decided to put it to good use and make a difference in 100 school children’s lives. We identified a school that one of us used to attend, arranged to meet the teachers and Principal of Parkdale Primary School in Eldorado, Gauteng to allow us with the permission of parents to identify children from each grade at the school who are in need of a pair of school shoes.
We then brought in sponsors to help us in making this project a success, Ackerman’s were happy to assist us with 100 pairs of school shoes and on the day we wanted to make it extra special and give the children a treat, Krispy Kreme was also happy to assist us with 100 doughnuts to give to each of the students.
On the 12th of July 2019, the look at the children’s faces when they received the school shoes was priceless. We then selected a few and filmed them asking what do they aspire to be when they grow up? The goal of this project was to encourage potential by capturing the ambitions and dreams of children while they are still young and discovering the world.

This was a beautiful initiative. Well done guys the video documentary of the day is awesome. I know this will leave a lasting impression in the lives that were touched by this project.
